Play Leaders

At Shakespeare Primary School, Play Leaders play a key role in promoting active and enjoyable playtimes for all students. We have different age groups of Play Leaders to cater to the needs of different aged learners, with Year 6 students leading activities for Key Stage 2 (KS2) and Year 4 students supporting Key Stage 1 (KS1). They are responsible for organizing and leading a variety of fun and inclusive activities during breaks, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to engage in positive, structured play. Play Leaders help to create a safe and welcoming environment by encouraging teamwork, fair play, and cooperation among their peers. They are also trained to support younger students, fostering leadership skills and responsibility while promoting physical activity and well-being across the school.
