Assemblies and Celebrations
Celebrating Achievement at Shakespeare!
Every week, children take part in daily celebrations through our star of the day certificates as well as a celebration assembly on a Friday. These celebrations recognise achievements from across the school each week.
100% effort
At Shakespeare School we believe in the power of 100% effort. We encourage children to be their best at all times. 100% effort raffles are earned for 100% effort in all aspects of home and school life. These raffles allow the children to work towards a family hamper for the summer holidays funded by our Friends Of Shakespeare.
Star of The Day
Our star of the day certificate celebrate the children following our 5 Star Rules/Values.
Celebration Assembly
On Friday, children take part in a Star of the Week assembly. Star of the Week recognises 100% effort and attitude towards learning and contributions to school life. We invite our families in to celebrate these achievements with us.
Class DOJO
On top of the above incentives we will still be giving out Class DOJO point for positive behaviour and reinforcement. Children earn their Class DOJO points for following our school rules, attendance and for reading at home. The children are then able to spend their well earned DOJO points in our Class DOJO shop.
How does it work?
Every 3 weeks the children will have their total added to their individual DOJO cards in school. On the 4th week the DOJO shop will be open for the children to spend their DOJO points or save them until they have earnt enough to buy the prize they are after. Our top 5 pupils in the school who have earnt the most DOJOs will be invited to the shop the day before it opens.
What are the benefits?
Not only will the children be receiving valuable positive reinforcement, they will be practicing their maths and money skills in a meaningful way. The addition and subtraction of points as they earn points and buy prizes are life long lasting skills relating to our money coming in and out. The option to spend on smaller prizes or save and work towards the more expensive prizes also has economic value for the children.
How does my child earn DOJO points?
DOJO points are awarded for children following the school rules; Kind, Listen, Help, Care, Persevere. Each rule is valued at 1 point. For every day that the children read at home they will receive 1 DOJO point for reading. Children who have 100% attendance for a week will receive 5 DOJO points for attendance.
Home Celebrations
We love sharing your achievements both in school and at home. We frequently get families sharing their child's achievements at home. These are celebrated in our Friday assembly, in class and they are also shared on the schools Round Up.
