🔴Important Information for Parents and Carers - Year 5
Tue 13 Jul 2021We can confirm a positive Covid-19 result within Year 5 has been reported to us today in line with track and trace guidelines.
As a result, we have informed the parents and carers of the children in Year 5 of their need to self-isolate. A further email regarding how learning will take place during this period will follow.
For clarity, Year 5 will return to school on Friday 16th July 2021 and we recommend that children are taken for a PCR test in that time.
The school’s policy of operating in distinct bubbles means we can clarify that all other year groups remain unaffected.
We understand hearing this news may cause questions and concerns and we are happy to address those directly via email (admin@spsymouth.org) or telephone.
Please be reassured that if there is news that affects your child’s year group directly, we will contact you and that the safety of our children and staff remains our top priority.
Thank you once again for your understanding and co-operation.

Important Information For All Parents And Carers
Fri 02 Jul 2021If your child is in a year group that has been sent home to self-isolate, please ensure they remain within the family home for the duration of the self-isolation period. Visitors should not visit the home nor should your child visit or meet up with others, even if outside.
We also recommend that you arrange a PCR test for your child which can booked for free via https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test. We ask you inform us of any positive tests so we can follow our procedures on the Track and Trace, ensuring we keep everyone safe.
For the parents of children who are in school, we ask that a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) is taken twice a week, once on a Sunday and again on a Wednesday. LFT packs can be obtained for free from most chemists. The results should be enter onto the Gov.uk website: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
If the result is positive, you should contact the school and follow the advice from the government by self-isolating and booking a PCR test.
We are working closely with Public Health England and acting on their advice. We will inform you of any updates as and when we receive them.
Thank you once again for your continued support.
