Is a Smart Watch on the Christmas List?
Fri 29 Nov 2019Just a reminder from our e-safety co-ordinator that smart watches are not to be worn by children in school and any child wearing one will be asked to remove it and place it in the school safe until the end of the school day. This is because many have mobile data facilities with notifications being accessible during school hours which can be distracting to the child and their peers. In addition, some devices have photographic and sound recording features which could put some of our more vulnerable children at risk if images were posted without consent.
If your child has asked for a watch this Christmas, we strongly encourage the purchase of an analogue face watch that will support your child to learning to read the time, a skill that is slowly weakening as the use of technology increases.
