The weather did not prevent play today with all activities going ahead.
This morning, a group took to the sea and went coasteering. The added surprise of an observant seal who stayed at a safe distance to watch the little humans jumping into his territory was a real bonus.
The other group hiked up to Berry Head and took on some challenging orienteering tasks.
This afternoon, the coasteerers went orienteering in full wet weather wear and the other group split with some children being the final group to take on the caves, some took the canoes out to spot seals and the remaining children headed into the chapel for some indoor climbing.
Christmas dinner was served and tonight, the annual talent show will take place.
We are mostly packed and plan on a visit to the shops in Brixham tomorrow before we head home. We will update on Facebook and Twitter as we leave to give a general guide of when we will return to school.
Another fantastic week at Grenville House!
The last of the groups went abseiling this morning whilst the remaining children either went on a Seal Safari in the canoes or challenged themselves by building a raft and taking to the water. We shall just say that Mr Benson's group were slightly disadvantaged but managed to remain upright... Until Mr Benson bailed out and took a majority of the children with him!
This afternoon sees more raft building with Miss Hodges' group all ready for the challenge to win (not that Miss H is at all competitive!) and three groups will be the first to attempt to coasteer.
Tea tonight will be a choice of Cottage Pie or Jacket Potato and later the children will take on the famous Grenville Quiz.
We are delighted to report normal(ish) sleep patterns have resumed!
Another amazing morning of caving, abseiling and canoeing for the groups. The kayakers went on a seal safari and saw 17 seals! The abseilers overcame their fears and the cavers got very muddy!
This afternoon, we will be swapping around and also tackling some problem solving.
Dinner tonight is a variety of rice and curry with an apple crumble pudding. We will also venturing out for a night walk around Brixham Harbour.
Photos will be uploaded throughout the evening from all the groups.
Staff members hope the children will be a little more tired this evening and will have an earlier night!!!
A great first day at Grenville House. All beds were made (with a little help!) and bags unpacked.
Groups went caving, took on the high ropes, abseiled and problem solved.
It was an Italian flavour for dinner with luscious Lasagne, cheesy macaroni, garlic bread and a pudding of cake.
We will try and get updates on our Facebook and twitter page throughout the day with a full round up here each evening.
