English
Part of our English learning this term has been based on how, when and why we use paragraphs in our writing. We sorted a mixture of sentences into paragraphs based on their topic.
Science
In our science lessons this term, we have been learning about animals, including humans. This has included looking at bones and muscles in a human body. We made our own model of a human arm!
Taste testing different fillings and bread for our healthy sandwiches
Homework Heroes!
As part of Black History Month, pupils in Year 3 combined their reading and creative skills to create these fantastic posters on Mary Seacole. They read an informative text, picked out the key facts and used these to design these fabulous posters!
Instruction writing
Following our art lesson making Stone Age pottery, we wrote our own instructions on how to create these handy pots.
Stone Age pottery
This week, we spent some time making our own clay Stone Age pots. We linked our history learning to this and discussed when clay pottery was first used. Next week, we will be writing our own instructions on how these clay pots were made during our English lessons.
DT
Continuing with our learning of mechanisms, we made our own monsters using a lever and linkage!
Art - stone age "cave" paintings.
In Art this week we used charcoal and oil pastel crayons to draw our own version of cave paintings.
Science - Magnets
During our Science lesson this week, we had great fun investigating whether magnetic forces worked through a variety of different materials.
DT
During the last two DT sessions, we have been using our levers knowledge to create our own peg monsters!
The Stone Age
This week, we completed graphic organisers about our new theme: The Stone Age.
