Diwali
We read the story of Rama and Sita and we looked at the festival of Diwali. We collected Autumn leaves and worked as part of a team to create our own Rangoli patterns.
Design Technology
We had a great afternoon designing and making a chair for a fairy tale character as part of our traditional tales topic. We chose a character and drew our design. We made our chairs by using card, tape and glue. We made a stable structure by making 4 cylindrical legs by rolling up pieces of card. We joined them to the chair seat by making tabs that we could glue onto the card. We decorated our seats for our chosen character. We had great fun!
Art - colour mixing. Mixing primary colours to make secondary colours and used these to paint new colour monsters!
