Tuesday 4th February was Class 3HS Class Assembly. The children were very excited to share lots of information and facts that they had learnt since joining Year 3. This included rehearsing and learning the French names of colours and commands. They showed their understanding of this by playing ‘Simon says’ with the audience.
Some children read the report they had written during our Be The Best You Can Be week. Their reports contained interesting facts they had written about a person they find inspirational.
Other children read the super reports they had written about the book they are currently using in English ‘Escape to Pompeii’. This book links to the class History theme of The Romans. They particularly liked the illustrations in the book and the story line which was a little sad at the end.
All the children taking part had learnt their words by heart but when they saw the large audience some were a little nervous and needed to read them. Even so, their teachers are very proud of them.
Other topics that the children shared information about included learning names of bones in the human skeleton, facts from the Stone Age Period to the Iron Age and designing and making paint brushes using the materials that Stone Age people would have had.
The assembly ended with the children singing a song about magnetism. Many children and adults in the audience began to join in the chorus and tap their feet to the beat!
As Mrs Radford said at the end of the assembly, 3HS assembly showed how hard all the children have been working in Year 3. Their teachers are very pleased with the great learning skills they are developing.
