The Theory of Evolution

Year 6 are starting to learn about Charles Darwin and his theory about evolution. They have been learning about his life and writing his biography including his adventures on the HMS Beagle.

Today in science, the children became birds and were given different tools to use as beaks to identify which "beak" works best for worm-eating birds. We also used different coloured (wool) worms to see if the worms themselves could adapt to survive longer than others on a white background!

Take a look at our video and photos to see how they got on.
