Both the Year 3/4 team and the Year 5/6 team have been taking part in local football tournaments at Goals. Our younger team made it through to the quarter finals and our older team did amazingly well to make the final, where they were unfortunately beaten on goal difference.
In the football league, the Year 5/6 team have played two matches, winning their first and losing their second.
Mr Howe is extremely proud of both teams and said "All team members played with great spirit and determination." Well done boys.
Photos from recent games can be seen below.

Players from Shakespeare School are going to look super smart on the football pitch following the launch of their new kit. Boys from the Year 6 team modelled the kit during a recent assembly and we are sure you will all agree they look super smart!
On Friday 23rd June, a team of athletes attended a meet at All Saint's Academy to take on four other schools from Plymouth. Children from years 3 to 6 took part in running and relay races, vortex throwing and long jump.
First places were won by Shakespeare children at a rapid rate and we were delighted to win the overall field champion title, the overall track champion title and the overall meet champion title.
This is the second year in a row that Shakespeare has claimed all the silverware at the athletics meet and we are incredibly proud of the children for their hard work and hunger for victory. Thanks should be given to Mr Norris and Mr Howe for training the children in preparation for the event.
On Thursday 3rd March, a team of girls from Year 6 went to All Saints Academy for a netball competition. As a relatively novice team, the girls performed brilliantly and ended up in a tough final against Pennycross Primary School. Both teams played well and at the final whistle it was a draw. The match was decided on a shoot out, which Pennycross won. We are delighted with the girls' determination in the final and they can be extremely proud of their runners up medals.
Well done Cortney, Leah, Shikela, Lacy, Kacey, Amy and Jasmine.
