School Trip - Buckland Abbey

On Thursday 9th March 2017, Year 2 visited Buckland Abbey,  the former home of Sir Francis Drake, who once famously finished a game of bowls on Plymouth Hoe as the Spanish Armada approached.

The children set up their own exhibition within the Great Hall and shared their recent learning with members of the public. Their exhibition was well received and some fantastic feedback was left in the visitors book.

Pictures from the day can be seen below and the exhibition will be on display in our Enquiry Zone for the next few weeks.

Buckland Abbey is part of the National Trust, who often organised fun, child friendly activities in the holidays and at weekends. A list of activities can be found on their website.
